Leo Havener, general manager of the Elk Grove Water Service, has been named to several committees within the Association of California Water Agencies.
The agency plays a leading role in California water issues and is active in development of laws, regulations and policies affecting the state's water users.
Havener was appointed to a two-year term on the association's Federal Affairs Committee, which monitors federal regulatory and legislative issues affecting water districts in the state.
He also will serve two-year terms on the association's groundwater and water quality committees. Those panels monitor state and federal regulations and legislation tied to groundwater and surface water.
The water district serves about 12,000 water users east of Highway 99 in Elk Grove.
