Blaze scorches two acres on Elk Grove ranch

A grass fire Wednesday night consumed 2 acres of ranch property in Elk Grove.
Firefighters with the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department were called to a blaze in an open field at Eschinger Road and West Stockton Boulevard at 8:56 p.m., said Steve Capps, spokesman for the district.
The fire was contained. There were no injuries and no structures were affected.
