Goldfield Trading Post, a new saloon-themed music venue that was scheduled to open Friday night in midtown Sacramento, postponed its debut, citing construction delays.
In a Twitter posting, the management team said, “With our deepest apologies, we are sad to announce that we will not be opening this weekend due to unforeseen construction delays.”
Friday night, two hours before country rock musician Joey Hyde’s scheduled 10 p.m. performance, lights were on inside the building at 1630 J St., the former site of Hamburger Patties and Sam’s Hofbrau. But there was no sign of anyone inside, the building was unfurnished and ladders leaned against walls.
Members of the management team could not be reached for comment on a new projected opening date.
