The mysterious Google Barge may be heading to a new home at the Port of Stockton, CBS San Francisco reports.

Stockton residents react to the news in this report from the streets of Stockton.

However, the Stockton Record reports that it may be too early for putting out the welcome mat. The Record said the Port of Stockton’s director has had no contact with Google about such a move. Read the story here.

The Google Barge is expected to one day be a floating showroom and demonstration space for Google X projects like Google Glass and autonomous cars, but has been sitting idle alongside the Treasure Island pier. CNET called the move official.
