Free music, fireworks will kick off the new year in Old Sacramento

Free fireworks and musical shows are scheduled for New Year's Eve in Old Sacramento.

Two fireworks shows are planned: a 9 p.m. sky show set to children's music and one at midnight. Entertainment starts at 6 p.m. on the main stage at Waterfront Park. Radio Disney Rockin' Road Crew puts on 30-minute performances at 7 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. Sing Inc. and Pop Academy perform at 7:45 p.m. Motown hits will be performed during three sets by Too Smooth beginning at 9:30 p.m.

The fireworks, music and street entertainment are presented by the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau.
