The U.S. Forest Service's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit anticipates selling out of holiday tree permits as early as Monday.

The permits were expected to be available at the unit's north and south Lake Tahoe offices through Dec. 24, with a limit of 3,000 total to be sold.

Until the limit is reached, the permits are available for $10 each.

Those interested in obtaining a permit are asked to call the unit at (530) 543-2694 to find out if they are still available before going to the offices in South Lake Tahoe and Incline Village, Nev.
