What's Up: Early Halloween Discovery

What: The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center is getting all spooky ahead of Halloween with its Jolly Jack-o-Lanterns two-day event next weekend. The Bone Zone exhibit offers visitors the opportunity to learn about skulls and skeletons – oh my! Kids will also learn about healthy eating and dental care before they dive into Halloween treats. Classroom activities will feature a cut-and-paste Halloween decoration to take home.

When: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (science discovery activities 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.), Saturday and next Sunday. Planetarium shows 1 and 3 p.m. for ages 4 and older; live animal presentations at noon and 2 p.m., all ages.

Where: 3615 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento

Cost: $8 adults (18 and over), $6 seniors (60 and over), $6 teens (13-17), $5 children (4-12), free for children 3 and under
