After rising from the ashes of a devastating arson fire, Iceland Ice Skating Rink is opening for its third winter season at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The open-air rink, run by a nonprofit organization, is seeking volunteers to help ready the rink for opening.

Volunteers may come to Iceland, 1430 Del Paso Blvd., from noon to 8 p.m. today and Friday to help with painting, cleaning and more.

Iceland, burned in an arson attack on March 29, 2010, will stay open through Feb. 24. The rink will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. every day, with extended holiday hours.
