A heart-warming musical event
What: The holidays really focus on children, so it's the perfect time for the Hallmark Inn, Davis Children's Stage Series to kick off at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis. It begins Friday with the San Francisco Symphony Family Concert. This celebration of the season marks the symphony's first family program at the Mondavi. The program will feature the orchestra accompanying the wonderful short film "The Snowman" (shown above), which tells the story of a boy's magical friendship with a snowman. The Oscar-nominated short, based on the book by Raymond Briggs, will highlight Howard Blake's heart-warming score. The evening also features performances of kid-friendly seasonal tunes and sing-alongs with the orchestra!
When: 7 p.m. Friday
Where: Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center, One Shields Ave., Davis
Tickets: $35-$58; half-price tickets for all children ages 17 and under are available for every Mondavi Center presenting program event.
Information: www.mondaviarts.org, (530) 754-2787, (866) 754-2787 and (530) 754-5402 (TDD)
