Small wheels keep turnin' on Bike to Work Day

Thousands of commuters are expected to pedal to work today around the Sacramento region as part of Bike to Work Day.

Volunteers will set up breakfast and energizer stations for bikers on key routes in the region.

Among the stations:

From 7 to 9 a.m., employees of the California Department of Public Health and Department of Health Care Services will have a "bicyclist fueling station" outside the Old Soul Coffee house and Edible Pedal in the alley between 17th and 18th streets and L Street and Capitol Avenue.

From 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. snacks, water and drinks will be available for commuting bicyclists on the Guy West Bridge, along the bike trail near California State University, Sacramento.
