Women veterans working to get overdue resources, benefits

Some women veterans still struggle to see themselves as veterans, even though they raised their right hands and swore to serve their country, even if it meant sacrificing their families. The Roseville-based Women Veterans Alliance seeks to break down barriers and misconceptions, and help women get the same veterans benefits men are entitled to.

Hope fades for refugees seeking new lives in Sacramento after Trump order

Sacramento region refugees said they were frustrated by President Donald Trump’s suspension of all refugee admissions, with some families in the middle of trying to bring over relatives. The capital region has drawn hundreds of refugees over the past decade because of its low living costs, and good public services and job opportunities.
