Applause: Kudos to Navy Hospitalman 3rd Class Zackery Penner

On June 22, 2012, Zackery Penner’s platoon encountered Afghan insurgents. A Marine was severely wounded on a rooftop. Without hesitation, Penner ran to the Marine while exposing himself to enemy fire coming from just 50 yards away. With rounds hitting all around him, Penner treated and evacuated the Marine.

Accomplishment: Named 2014 Physician of the Year by Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California

Details: Riemer specializes in evaluation of spine disorders and pain, as well as treatment of patients with a wide array of neurological conditions.
