Kudos to: Monsignor James C. Kidder, Holy Trinity Parish, El Dorado Hills

Accomplishment: Received distinguished pastor award from the National Catholic Educational Association

Details: Kidder was one of seven priests honored nationwide for exceptional support to their parish schools. The award honors those who advance Catholic education by providing strong spiritual guidance and working closely with the school community.

Kudos to: Sanjay Raavi, a junior at Oak Ridge High School

Accomplishment: First place in El Dorado County Democratic party essay contest

Details: Raavi and other essay writers answered the questions: “What do you believe is the biggest single threat to our democracy? Explain your choice. How do you believe we should meet this threat?”

Kudos to: George Burnash, volunteer

Accomplishment: Named Rancho Cordovan of the Year

Details: Burnash was honored by the Cordova Community Council for his many years of volunteer work. The council was founded in 1959 and has served as a meeting place to discuss the future of Rancho Cordova.
