Wind Youth Services. Summer Soiree will be from 7 p.m. to midnight July 25 at 701 Crocker Road. Cocktails, dancing and a silent auction are the party plans. Cocktail attire with a summer flair is suggested. The soiree is $95 per person; visit www.windyouth.org.

Wind Youth Services provides homeless and at-risk youths between 12 and 24 with basic safety net and survival services and a safe place to stay. Programs include street outreach, case management, and youth and family counseling. The street outreach program is designed to reach homeless youths where they are and encouraging them to access other resources. Through the street outreach program, youths are offered shelter, hot meals, transportation, clothing closet and personal hygiene packs, case management, counseling, basic medical care and referrals, and connections. Wind also provides short-term shelter.

Calidanza Dance Company . The dance company will celebrate its first year with a fundraising birthday party at 6:30 p.m. July 17 at Mayahuel, 1200 K St. Calidanza will provide entertainment along with live music by San Francisco’s Vinic Kay and Chino. Cynthia Moreno will be emcee. The taco and tequila bar will be open; a silent auction and raffle are on the program. Steven Valencia is artistic director of Calidanza.

Los Ninos Service League. A pair of special programs have been added to lunchtime at Casa Garden Restaurant, 2760 Sutterville Road. Lunch and music by X-Factor finalist Jerry Lopes will be featured July 22 at both lunch servings: 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Entree choices will be chicken Sonora served with spring salad mix, or grilled chicken with nectarine salad; lemon silk torte is the dessert. Lunch will be $22 person, including tax and gratuity; first-come, first-served group reservations by one person, one check. Reservations are a must.

A wine social will be held on Aug. 5 with one seating only, at 11:30 a.m. Red and white wine sips from Scott Harvey Wines will be paired with Casa hors d’oeuvres, preceding lunch of chicken en filo or sesame Thai beef salad. The day’s dessert: Latte Mocha Torte. Lunch is $22 per person, including tax and gratuity. Reservations are a must for open seating. For reservations/information, call (916) 452-2809. The Casa, which has two seatings for lunch Mondays through Fridays, provides support for the Sacramento Children’s Home.

Race for the Arts. Aug. 23 is the date for the 16th annual 5k and fun runs in William Land Park, with registration at 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m. starting time; 9:30 a.m. for kids fun run. Race for the Arts has been created to benefit nonprofit visual, performing, cultural and literary arts organizations and school music, drama and literary programs. Participants choose their favorite nonprofit and 100 percent of the entry fee benefits the designated group.

In addition to the fun run, the event will include entertainment, food booths, the Sacramento County Bookmobile, and more. Over the past 15 years, 212 arts and schools have benefited from the race. Huntington’s Disease Society of America. The sixth annual Team Hope walk will be July 26 starting at 4000 S. Land Park Drive. Registration will be at 8 a.m.; walk time 9 a.m. Team Hope will honor Teresa Tempkin for her work with HD families at the Center of Excellence, and Mr. and Mrs. George Parks for their contributions to the NorCal Chapter. Eppie’s Great Race. People with mental and physical handicaps in Sacramento County will benefit from the 41st annual triathlon on July 19. Teams and individuals will compete in the three-part race: 5.82-mile run, 12.5-mile cycle, and 6.35-mile paddle on the American River Parkway. To register/volunteer, visit www.eppiesgreatrace.org.

Alzheimer’s Association. The Fab 40s 5k Fun/Walk will be July 26 with start/finish lines at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. The 5k course will run through the fabulous 40s neighborhood on M Street before returning to the park for a mile loop to the finish at (reportedly) the highest point in Sacramento. The awards ceremony will be at 9:45 a.m. with plaques for the first place boy and girl. One of the events has been designated the Buzz Oates Run Sac Race Series. Keaton Raphael Memorial. The amusement park fundraiser themed Fun Tastic Evening will be from 5 to 8 p.m. July 25 at Funderland Amusement Park, 1350 17th Ave. Unlimited ride wristbands will be free for KRM Families; $5 for the general public. Sacramento State Alumni. Vintage ’47 will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 24 in the University Union Ballroom on campus. Featured to sip and snack will be food and wine from vineyards and restaurants owned by CSUS alumni.
