This is part of a weekly feature in Home & Garden, highlighting ways residents can save water.

•  Fix toilet leaks now.

A “running” toilet may seem like just an annoyance, but that slow leak is flushing your money down the drain. A leaking toilet wastes 30 to 50 gallons of water a day. That adds up to 900 to 1,500 gallons a month. Not sure if your toilet leaks? Get a free test kit from your water provider. Often only minor repairs are needed to stop that water waste.
