Kids had their pictures taken with Sacramento’s most fat cat at the Central Library’s “Paws to Read with Norm Lopez” event on Sunday. The summer reading celebration featured a feline-themed story time.

The theme of this year’s Summer Reading program, “Paws to Read,” will feature many events that include actual animals that children can come see. Children can learn about pet care and nutrition, meet police K9s and other service dogs, or visit a petting zoo.

For more information: The Central Library is at 828 I St. (916) 264-2920.
