SOLANO COUNTY

Rush Ranch family activities

Spend your Saturday enjoying the rolling grasslands and tidal marshes of Rush Ranch in Solano County during its annual open house. Feel free to bring paper and pencils to sketch the wildlife or write a poem. The historic blacksmith shop will also be open and you can "learn about traditional blacksmithing tools and make your own nail or other keepsake." In addition, there will be exhibits of American Indian crafts and works by other artists. And don't forget to take a ride in the horse-drawn wagon.

The free event takes place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Rush Ranch is at 3521 Grizzly Island Road near Suisun City. Go to www.solanolandtrust.org/ RushRanch.aspx for more information.
