SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
Step back in time and discover a village of jesters, knights and Shakespearean actors. The Valhalla Renaissance Faire will descend on Lake Tahoe the next two weekends. Ride an elephant, test your archery skills, watch jousting tournaments and shop for artisan crafts. Entertainment will be everywhere, with 900 costumed actors performing on stage and in the streets.
The first weekend is geared toward younger children, with Scottish-themed dancing, plays and music. Pirates and barbarians invade the second weekend, with scavenger hunts and costume contests.
It all takes place at the Camp Richardson Resort, 1900 Jameson Beach Road, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission runs $18 general, $13 for seniors, military and ages 13-17, $8 for ages 6-12 and free for children under 6. For more tickets and more information, visit www.valhallafaire.com.
