Keep yer eyes open for pirates, swords and swashbuckling at the Vallejo Waterfront Park for the 10th annual Northern California Pirate Festival. Treasure hunts, zip-lining and mermaids are all part of the fun. Brush up on your pirate lingo before heading out. In the evening, adults can enjoy a burlesque show as well as live music.
The festival begins Saturday, June 18, and ends Sunday, June 19. Ticket prices vary from $10 to $25 per day, and the event is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 289 Mare Island Way.

What: The Pony Express re-ride from California to Missouri is a 10-day (June 15-25), nonstop relay event that includes more than 600 riders and horses.
