RIDE ALONG 2
Rated PG-13 for sequences of violence, sexual content, language and some drug material.
What it’s about: Ice Cube and Kevin Hart pair up for another odd-couple buddy-cop adventure, this time in Miami.
The kid attractor factor: Broad humor, stars Ice Cube and Kevin Hart
Good lessons/bad lessons: Always be yourself, don’t worry about what others think, accept your family for who they are.
Violence: This is a buddy-cop comedy about stopping a drug smuggler, so there’s lots of action and violence. There’s nothing too graphic or bloody, but it is violent.
Language: Some swearing and strong language
Sexuality: Plenty of sexual references, exposure of women’s bodies, etc. No nudity.
Drugs: Some drinking and a wild night in the club.
Parents advisory: This lighthearted buddy-cop flick is OK for teens and most preteens, but is too violent and racy for little kids.
NORM OF THE NORTH
Rated PG for mild rude humor and action.
What it’s about: A talking polar bear ventures to New York City to stop condo developers from invading his home.
The kid attractor factor: Animated fun is catnip for kids.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Believe in yourself – what you think are your weaknesses could be your strengths. Stand up for what’s right and defend your home.
Violence: There’s some cartoon violence: some fisticuffs on the street, use of tranquilizer guns, and a climactic dramatic action sequence.
Language: Just the usual toilet humor
Sexuality: None, just a girl polar bear with long eyelashes Norm crushes on
Parents advisory: This would be fine for kids of all ages. The smallest ones might find the climactic action a bit too scary.
