The Sacramento region has another contestant on NBC’s “The Voice.”
A singer who goes only by the name of “Sonic” is enjoying her time in the spotlight on the network talent show. Sonic was born in Woodland, although she says in a network interview that she now lives in San Francisco. She appeared in the show’s knockout round Monday night.
Sonic was 6 years old when she learned that she was deaf in one ear. That didn’t stop her singing and she had a record deal at the age of 14.
While she never had a million-selling tune, she continues to pursue a musical career.
Sonic and Sacramento resident Joe Tolo are both on a team led by singer and judge Christina Aguilera.
In the coming weeks, the contestants on all four of the judges’ teams will compete until the winner is finally chosen.
