The Parrothead nation will descend this fall on the home of the Sacramento Kings. Jimmy Buffett, the easygoing singer-songwriter best known for his hit 1977 song “Margaritaville,” is scheduled to perform at downtown’s Golden 1 Center on Thursday, Oct. 20.
The concert is part of a month-long series of events designed to inaugurate the new arena, which is projected to open in October. The concerts lined up so far cover a wide swath of Sacramento demographics: a pop-rock show by Maroon 5 (Oct. 15); an appearance by Latin superstars Maná (Nov. 9); and now a baby-boomer-focused night with Buffett.
More concerts and events tied to the opening of Golden 1 Center are expected to be announced soon.
