Air Force Airman Chris E. Redman and Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Scott E. Henrich have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies. The airmen also performed drill and ceremony marches, received physical training, rifle marksmanship, did field training exercises and received special training in human relations.

Redman, a 2007 graduate of Oakmont High School in Roseville, is the son of Sheryl Redman of Antelope and grandson of Lois Stermer of Placerville.

Henrich is the son of John Henrich and nephew of Tom Henrich, both of Pollock Pines, and is a 2000 graduate of Windsor High School in California.

Marine Corps Pvt. Gregory A. Webb, a 2006 graduate of Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, recently graduated from the light armored vehicle repairman course at Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

Webb received instruction on troubleshooting, repair and inspection of light armored vehicles that provide infantrymen with the capability of performing offensive and defensive missions requiring agility and fire power.

Webb joined the Marine Corps in September 2007.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Roderick S. Pond, the son of Charles J. and stepson of Sheila Pond of Folsom, recently deployed for duty to Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras.

Pond will serve as a member of Joint Task Force-Bravo, composed of U.S. military members and more than 650 U.S. and Honduran civilians. JTF-B units conduct military-to-military training, execute counter narco-trafficking operations, human trafficking deterrence and engagement in civil affairs activities in conjunction with U.S. interagency partners.

Pond, a 1999 graduate of Independence Continuation High School in Roseville, is a pilot with eight years of military service. His mother and stepfather, Frances and Julian Carrion, live in Abilene, Texas.
