The condiment is named for Sacramento Kings shooting guard Nik Stauskas, who earned the nickname “Sauce Castillo” after a closed-captioning error. Abe Cunningham of Deftones and chef Adam Pechal helped taste test the sauce.
Make no mistake. The numbers involved in this steak eating challenge are a little hard to digest. In just 20 minutes, Molly Schuyler of Plumas Lake chowed down more than 13 pounds of steak, consuming more than 12,000 calories and at least 540 grams of fat.
Now in its third year, BottleRock has added a culinary stage. A variety of culinary rock stars will demonstrate recipes and other food related activities. Snoop Dogg, Flavor Flav, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and others will participate in this ‘mash up’ of food and music.
The downtown theater has expanded its concessions menu to include beer and wine, including an ale from the local Ruhstaller brewery. The revised menu will also include pizza, salad and Morant’s sausage.
The Kitchen, one of Sacramento’s top restaurants, is moving to Broadway. It’s leaving its longtime location on Hurley Way. The ownership group includes Selland Family Restaurants, Unger Construction Co. and Silva Stowell Associates.
