The Sacramento Business Journal just released its list of “Top midtown restaurants 2013,” and some of the results might surprise you. Does Chicago Fire Pizza really deserve to rank higher than Kru, which provides some of the city’s best culinary artistry? Does the cheapie burrito fix found at Jalapeno’s really provide a better eating experience than The Waterboy?

The survey used an algorithm based on online ratings from Yelp, TripAdvisor and Urbanspoon to cull its rankings. The Sacramento Business Journal notes these rankings measure popularity instead of quality, and tend to be skewed by younger consumers who prefer less expensive restaurants.

Mulvaney’s B&L still emerged as the No. 1 pick, followed by Tuli Bistro and the wine bar 58 Degrees and Holding Co.

Take a look at the results here, and let us know in the comments how you’d rate the top midtown restaurants.
