Sacramento Food Film Festival on the menus of top restaurants

The movies, menus and venues have been selected, and Sacramento food blogger-activist Catherine Enfield ( www.munchiemusings.net) is ready to screen the third annual Sacramento Food Film Festival, March 20-30. Just what is it? Seven food-themed movies will be paired with special meals at top restaurants and othr venues, and will involve panel discussions for foodies and filmies alike. Some events are free, others range from $15 to $40.

A sampling: “Spinning Plates,” a documentary that profiles three disparate restaurants, will open the festival at Restaurant Ten22; appetizers will be served. Closing the festival at Sunh Fish will be “Sweet, Sexy Ocean,” a documentary on harvesting sea urchins. Look for a sushi and uni tasting with chef Billly Ngo from Kru.

Proceeds from the festival will be donated to the California Food Literacy Center, whose mission is “to inspire change today for a healthy, sustainable tomorrow through enduring community food education” ( www.californiafoodliteracy.org).

Enfield is the festival founder and organizer, and a member of Sacramento Connect, the Bee’s network of partnering blogs and community news websites ( www.sacramentoconnect.com).
