I just read the latest press release from Dan Scott and Sacramento Beer Week, and one little fact in there just might blow you away.

This is the 5th annual Beer Week, which runs from Feb. 27 to March 9. As Scott notes, the opening event, the Sacramento Brewers Showcase, is reserved for local breweries. In 2010, nine breweries qualified for an invite. This year, he’s sending out 27 invitations.

If you’re into craft beer, you’re aware of this growth and how good that feels. There are so many more options – from the old standards like Rubicon, River City and Hoppy to all those new upstarts – and there’s such a nice vibe surrounding the beer boom in Sacramento right now. Beer Week is a way to take it in and celebrate this new landscape for beer.

If you want to have the most intensive Beer Week experience at the best value – taste new and different beers and meet lots of great people – you might consider getting a package deal of the Brewers Showcase, and the closing event, Capitol Beer Fest.

This deal is called Beer Week Geek, costs $75, and you get the VIP treatment at both events. Power users will want to jump on this one, as tickets are limited.
