Noah Zonca leaves Capital Dime as its chef/owner

Noah Zonca has announced that he’s left midtown’s Capital Dime as its chef and co-owner.
Zonca, who became one of Sacramento’s most familiar culinary figures during his decade stint at The Kitchen, opened Capital Dime with fellow co-owners Rick Lobley and Melissa Sanchez in the summer of 2013. Zonca billed Capital Dime’s fare as “farm-to-face” with its emphasis on hearty comfort foods made primarily with seasonal ingredients.
Zonca’s departure adds to an already tumultuous week on Sacramento’s restaurant scene. Midtown’s Tuli Bistro served its final meal on Monday night following financial woes.
Zonca says he’s splitting from the partnership to pursue his own catering company that cooks prix fixe dinners in homes, along with other business opportunities.
“It was time to do something for me,” Zonca said. “It was fun and I’ll continue to support them. It was fun and I believe in the concept.”
