Sacramento woman to compete for best gelato artisan

Elizabeth McCleary will compete May 9-11 for the title of best gelato artisan in North America in a contest organized by Gelato World Tour.

McCleary, who owns Devine Gelateria & Café, will prepare assigned flavor Bananas Foster, according to a press release from Gelato World Tour.

She will compete against 15 others. The top three finalists will represent the U.S. at a world competition later this year in Rimini, Italy.

McCleary opened Devine Gelateria & Café at 1221 19th St., Sacramento, in 2011.
