The 88-year-old Dante Club is looking good for its age. It’s long been a local icon and top destination for social gatherings and fund-raisers.

If you want to taste some brew and vino, and munch on Italian-accented appetizers, the club’s next event will be the third annual Viva Vino celebration. It will benefit the club’s scholarship fund. All that sipping and noshing will be accompanied by live music and art displays. Plus lots of schmoozing.

The event is 1 to 4 p.m. May 18 at 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento; (916) 925-8230. Tickets are $20 at, or call (916) 747-0035. Children admitted free.
