The dining scene in Midtown Sacramento has never been more exciting or diverse. If you can’t get there as often as you might like, at least now you can taste a sampling of what all the buzz is about.

The Cupertino-based company DishCrawl is offering a mini-tour of three Midtown restaurants for $45. Each will serve samples of three house-specialty dishes — maybe something like the meatballs pictured here. At each place, the chef or owner will greet the group, talk about the menu and his/her food philosophy, and answer questions. Adult beverages are not included, but can be purchased separately.

Exactly which restaurants are on the tour is a secret that won’t be revealed until just before the evening starts. If you sign up here, you'll be emailed the name and address of the first restaurant on the tour; that's the tour meet-up spot.

The Midtown DishCrawl will tour from 7 to 10 p.m. May 21. BTW, check out the DishCrawl videos here.
