Looking for a new midnight munchies hotspot in midtown or downtown? Check out the trio of Sacramento eateries to be featured Thursday night on the Cooking Channel’s “Late Night Eats.”
Chef Jordan Andino will start by learning how to make Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Co.’s salumi pizza, made with locally produced pork and fried lemon arancini balls.
He’ll then move onto Sauced BBQ and Spirits, where cooks will hook him up with the Dougie – a burger piled high with brisket, bacon, fried onion rings, two types of cheese, barbecue ranch, a house sauce and pickles.
After tossing a bumpkin (egg roll with brisket, southwest veggies and a side of chipotle blackberry barbecue sauce) in his mouth, Andino will hit Chando’s Cantina for some Mexican street food. On the menu for Thursday night’s show: a mole-laden sandwich featuring steak, chorizo, lettuce and queso fresco, and a goodnight meal of chicken wings served with poblano, mole rojo and mezcal avocado lime sauces.
