James Ford, president of Fresno-based Central Valley Community Bancorp, will also assume the post of CEO effective Sunday.
Central Valley Community Bancorp is the parent of Central Valley Community Bank. There are 21 CVCB branches in the region, including one in Sacramento. The bank was founded in 1980.
Ford will assume the CEO duties of Daniel Doyle, who is retiring but will continue his association with the banking firm as chairman of its board of directors.
Ford, a 34-year banking veteran who joined CVCB in February last year, is a familiar face in Sacramento-region banking circles. He’s the former president and CEO of Medford, Ore.-based PremierWest Bancorp, which oversaw branches in Davis, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Rocklin and Woodland.
In 2013, PremierWest completed a merger deal to become part part of Spokane, Wash.-based AmericanWest Bank.
