Rancho Cordova City Council

Key agenda item: Consideration of authorizing submission of the draft housing element of the general plan, the city's blueprint for growth, to the state Department of Housing and Community Development for review.

Sacramento Area Sewer District

Key agenda item: A report to the board on recent claims filed against the district as a result of sewage backup into customers' homes or business. In September, The Bee reported that the amount paid out in claims has tripled in recent years.

El Dorado Irrigation District

Key agenda item: Board's consideration of awarding two contracts, totaling $246,282, for restocking fish at Caples Lake.

Other issues: Update on the Caples Lake drawdown and replacement of gates in the lake's main dam.

El Dorado County Board of Supervisors

Key agenda item: A 10 a.m. board hearing on a proposed ordinance governing vacation home rentals on the county's west slope, and amendments to an ordinance on vacation home rentals in the Lake Tahoe basin.

Other issues: Resolutions implementing increased recycling service levels and, in some cases, rate increases for garbage collection franchise areas of the county; proposed ordinance granting a one-year extension of building and grading permits because of the current economic climate.

El Dorado County Agricultural Commission

Key agenda item: Consideration of general plan amendments, one involving parcel size exceptions and another, mixed-use developments, allowing a variety of uses within a development to encourage people to work and shop near where they live.
