Volunteer Sacramento

Volunteer Sacramento logoVolunteer Sacramento is an effort led by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, in partnership with Hands on Sacramento and Congresswoman Doris Matsui, to encourage volunteerism and service in our community. With the goal of making Sacramento the No. 1 city in California for volunteering, Volunteer Sacramento is asking every resident to donate a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer time this year.

Our goal is to log 500,000 hours of community service by the end of 2009, which will translate into an economic contribution of more than $10 million back into our community. Adults, youth, families and companies will participate in service projects centered on a monthly calendar of volunteer themes and volunteer projects focused on the mayor's key initiatives:
• Public Safety
• Homelessness
• Education
