Are you looking for volunteer activities around the region? In this blog we will highlight the opportunities and needs in our community. Bloggers are Mary Lynn Perry, volunteer coordinator for the city of Sacramento. Christine Wallace, community resource coordinator for the Volunteer Center of Sacramento. Volunteer Sacramento is an effort led by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, in partnership with Hands on Sacramento and Congresswoman Doris Matsui, to encourage volunteerism and service in our community. With the goal of making Sacramento the No. 1 city in California for volunteering, Volunteer Sacramento is asking every resident to donate a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer time this year.
