The New Home Company’s The Cannery was recently named Master-Planned Community of the Year at the 2016 International Builders Show in Las Vegas.
The Nationals, which are presented by the National Association of Home Builders Sales and Marketing Council, recognize the most outstanding work in residential real estate planning, architecture, interior design, sales and marketing.
The Cannery, which opened in Davis in August, is California’s first farm-to-table new-home community. It is a mixed-use community on the site of a former tomato cannery and features a seven-acre Urban Farm that will serve as an agri-business for students and beginning farmers.
The innovative community also includes retail shops, a recreation center, amphitheatre, welcome center and miles of trails.
New Home shared the award with its marketing and development partners, as well as builders Shea Homes and CalAtlantic Homes.
“To be recognized by our peers with a Community of the Year award on our industry’s national stage is very special,” said Joan Marcus-Colvin, New Home Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Design. “These honors reinforce our passion for great architecture, design and planning and we could not be more proud of our entire team and talented partners.”
