Earlier this year, it was announced that The New Home Company’s Kevin Carson had been named as a 2016 inductee into the California Homebuilding Foundation’s (CHF) Hall of Fame. As word began to spread through the region’s homebuilding industry, the consensus reaction was one of genuine delight for Kevin, for whom this honor is well-deserved.
Kevin is one of the most influential thought leaders in this association and across our industry. With a homebuilding career spanning more than 30 years, he has seen and done it all, but what’s so impressive about him is his willingness to share the knowledge and experience he’s accrued with his colleagues.
But Kevin isn’t just about building homes, he’s committed to building communities, like his latest project, The Cannery – the groundbreaking new community in Davis. From the beginning of construction to the end, Kevin is constantly involved, always seeking to make a community as satisfyingly livable as possible for potential homeowners.
And he brings that same intensity to his charitable endeavors. Over the last 20 years, Kevin has played a major role in 30 different projects for our charitable arm, HomeAid Sacramento. HomeAid provides transitional shelter to homeless children, women and families throughout the region. From raising money to providing materials to shelter construction, Kevin has been instrumental in helping HomeAid expand its reach and impact.
Our association’s leadership and members would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to Kevin, who we all agree is the perfect candidate for this tremendous honor.
Kevin and the rest of the 2016 Hall of Fame inductees will be honored next week at a ceremony in San Francisco. To find out more about the CHF Hall of Fame, please visit www.mychf.org.
