ThermoGenesis posts smaller quarterly loss

Rancho Cordova-based medical equipment firm ThermoGenesis Corp. reported a loss of $738,000, or 4 cents per share, in its fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30.

That was an improvement from a net loss of $1.2 million, or 7 cents a share, in the same quarter a year ago.

Fourth-quarter revenue was $4.5 million vs. $5.4 million in the year-ago period.

The company said the recent $2 million sale of its CryoSeal Fibrin Sealant System wound- care product line to Tokyo-based Asahi Kasei Medical Co. will be reflected in its next quarterly report.

For all of fiscal 2012, ThermoGenesis lost $5 million, or 30 cents a share, compared with a loss of $2.6 million, or 17 cents a share, in the prior year.
