Pacific Gas and Electric is posting open pre-apprentice line worker positions through Monday, part of the utility's plan to hire 60 of the workers this year in its Sacramento-Sierra service area.

Pre-apprentice line workers learn the skills needed to become an apprentice line worker, including electricity grounding principles, and scaling power poles and steel structures.

All candidates must apply and complete a profile online through the utility's field operations job portal at to be considered.

The utility's Sacramento-Sierra service area includes the Sacramento region and extends roughly from Ukiah to Bakersfield.
