1. EDUCATION CONFERENCE VO/SOT
Business and civic leaders, researchers, education professionals and state officials are scheduled to participate in EdSource' day-long forum on education reform policy recommendations. EdSource is a not-for profit organization with the goal of clarifying complex education issues. The governor has stated 2008 will be the year for education reform. Efforting soundbites and video.
2. SMALL BUSINESS AGREEMENT VO/SOT
State officials from Consumer and General Services will sign an agreement with the city and county of Sacramento that will make it easier for small businesses to contract with the state. 3. PRISON GUARDS GRADUATE VO/SOT
California Department of Corrections Secretary James Tilton will participate in today's graduation prison guard graduation ceremony at the correction Training Academy in Galt, a city in southern Sacramento County. 4. HEALTH CARE VIGIL VO/SOT
The 48-hour health care reform vigil organized by labor unions and other groups including senior citizens concludes its prayer vigil and fast today outside the governor's office at the State Capitol. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Los Angeles for the opening of a car pool lane at the 101-405 interchange.
