1. GANG CRIME INITIATIVE VO/SOT
Senator George and Assemblywoman Sharon Runner will introduce a ballot initiative before turning it in to the Attorney General for title and summary that will strengthen the state's anti gang laws. The measure they call the Safe Neighborhoods Act will create intervention and rehabilitation programs that will be held publicly accountable and enhance penalties for gang, gun and methamphetamine crimes. The Runners will be joined by crime victims, police and sheriffs officials and prosecutors at their news conference at the Sacramento County Courthouse. Efforting soundbites and video.
2. UNCLAIMED PROPERTY HEARING VO/SOT
The Governmental Organization Committee will conduct a hearing regarding the state's policy on notifying owners of accounts or property that haven't been accessed by the owners so that they may reclaim their property. Efforting soundbites and video.
3. RED RIBBON WEEK KICK OFF VO/SOT
Officials from the Highway Patrol and state and federal drug officials will commemorate the start of Red Ribbon Week at a Sacramento area school. Red Ribbon week commemorates the death of a federal drug agent and is intended to discourage kids from using drugs. Efforting soundbites and video.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is visiting fire devastated areas in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties and participating in a Women's Conference event in Long Beach.
The Senate and Assembly have adjourned for the regular 2007 session. The special session for water and health care is ongoing. The 2008 session convenes January 7th.
