Basketball stars Melody Khlok and Deja Kinsey of Kennedy High School head a list of five female prep athletes who have signed national letters of intent to compete in college on scholarship.

Khlok, bound for University of San Francisco, and Kinsey, headed to Humboldt State, powered the Cougars to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship and later a berth in the Northern California title game. Khlok, a returning All-Metro player, is a swing and Kinsey a forward.

El Dorado volleyball star Cora Harms signed with North Carolina and Davis standout volleyball player Molly Pon with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Harms is the third member of her family to accept a volleyball scholarship over the years. Her sisters Lillian and Christine signed in previous years with Sonoma State and Nevada, respectively. Also a track star, Cora may also compete in track and field with North Carolina.

Also, pitcher Tegan Schmidt of Whitney signed to play softball for Stanford.

In boys sports, wrestler Connor Morgan of Del Oro signed with Utah Valley University, a Division I program in Orem, Utah. Morgan, a 130-pounder, was a section champion as a sophomore who missed his junior season with a knee injury. He is at full health now.

Kyle Odister of Rio Americano signed with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to play men's basketball. Odister, a senior at Rio, is a 6-foot, 165-pound point guard. Odister averaged 13.4 points and 1.4 assists as a junior.
