Trucks will be spraying for mosquitoes in three areas of Placer County beginning from midnight to 3 a.m. this morning, according to a news release from the Placer Mosquito and Vector Control District.
Adult mosquitoes from three areas of western Placer County, Sheridan, Critter Creek Road and the area near Locust Road at Baseline Road, have tested positive for West Nile Virus, the release states.
The release states the spraying will be in the following areas:
- Community of Sheridan north to Goethe Road along Camp Far West Road
- Critter Creek Road and Knickerbocker Road south of Nicolaus Road.
- Along roadways from Locust Road east to Country Acres Lane between Baseline Road and Jackson Street, and the community of Elverta south of Baseline Road.
Trucks will be applying PyrocideR 7396 by "ultra low volume fog" to target adult mosquitoes as they are flying, the release states.
