A Rio Linda man died Monday when his motorcycle struck a car that made a left turn into his path, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Marcus McGuire, 20, of Rio Linda was riding a motorcycle westbound on Elkhorn Boulevard approaching 26th Street in Rio Linda about 3:20 p.m. At the same time, Mohad Ajmal, 33, of Elk Grove was driving his car eastbound on Elkhorn just west of 26th and was about to make a left turn.
Ajmal began to turn onto northbound 26th Street, according to the CHP, when the motorcycle struck the right front of his car.
McGuire, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident, the CHP said. The collision is still under investigation.
