This weekend will probably be the last weekend of good color in the Sacramento area, especially with winter weather setting in. It's also the last weekend before our foliage photography contest ends.

In response to many of your emails, here is a brief outline of how I'm producing this fall colors project using a laptop computer and cell phone from the Eastern Sierra and the camera equipment I am using.
All the trees around the rose garden in McKinley Park are almost finished with their wonderful show of color. This weekend will be the last weekend for area color and the last weekend before our fall colors photography contest deadlines. The colors of the leaves in this photo are accentuated by using a polarizing filter and utilizing side lighting. This photo was made on Wednesday November, 18, 2009.

These oak leaves in McKinley Park in Sacramento, CA are in full color right now. The colored leaves contrast nicely against a solid blue background. This color should last through the weekend and is just in time to coincide with the deadline for entering our foliage photography photography contest on November 26, 2009.
