Christian Brothers High School Alumni Association. Award-winning wines from 80 participating wineries will be poured at the 21st annual wine-tasting extravaganza from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 5 at the school, 4315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Food, including desserts, will be provided by more than 35 area restaurants along with samples from 20 local microbreweries. Advance tickets are $50; $65 at the door. The event is open to those age 21 and older. Call (916) 733-3600.

Capital Stage. The second annual Benefit Bash, themed "Get Your Bold On," will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Blue Cue, 2730 J St. Bash-time festivities will include food and wine, live and silent auctions, jazz, billiards and an opportunity to meet and greet Capital Stage artists. Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center. The annual Fairytale Town After Hours fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at Fairytale Town in William Land Park. Fifty area restaurants, wineries, breweries and other beverage providers will offer tastes and sips at the event, which will include live music, silent auction and celebrity hosts. Asian Pacific Community Counseling. The Dragon Dinner will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Sacramento State Alumni Center. Theme of the dinner celebrating 31 years of service is "Innovations in Mental Health: Implementing the Vision." Tickets are $80 per person or $750 for a table of 10. Domestic Violence Intervention Center. Night of Laughs comedy benefit will be Sept. 7 at the Dante Club, 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with 7 p.m. showtime. Tickets are $25 per person; call (916) 799-8702.
