Doris Lockness, 99, began flying in the 1930s, about the time Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo over the Atlantic. She holds all of her ratings, was a WASP during WWII and earned her helicopter rating in the 1960s Her contributions to the promotion and public acceptance of women as pilots in general aviation have been honored by many.
