VFW auxiliary breakfast
ATWATER The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW will have its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 1390 Broadway. Menu choices are: waffles with strawberries and cream, biscuits with sausage and gravy, eggs with bacon or sausage, hash browns and biscuit, or omelettes with hash browns. Juice and coffee are served with all meals. Cost is a $4 to $6 donation per person. Proceeds help fund veterans programs.

Seeking community input
The Merced County Mental Health Department is seeking community participation in an upcoming series of workshops to get feedback on needs throughout the county. State retirees luncheon
California state retirees will hold a luncheon and meeting at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at Carrow’s Restaurant, 720 Motel Drive, Merced. They will discuss the latest news on issues affecting retirees. Join in “giving back” by taking canned food and/or toys for donation to local charities. No reservations required. Free lunch is available for first-time attending members.
ATWATER VFW Post 9946 will have its annual barbecue tri-tip dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $7. The meal is tri-tip, baked beans, salad, roll and ice cream. Call (209) 358-7224. Proceeds will benefit community and veterans programs.
