A second push is scheduled Tuesday for a Christmas toy drive sponsored by the Merced County Sheriff’s Department and the county Human Services Agency.
Operation Holiday Toy Drive helps Merced County families in need during the Christmas season. It has been conducted annually for more than a decade.
Toys can be donated from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Merced County Administration Building at 222 M St.
Donation barrels are also located through Dec. 20 at the Human Services Agency, 2115 Wardrobe Ave.; the Family Resource Center at 1573 W. Main St.; the Mental Health Department at 480 E 13th St.; and the Public Health Department at 260 E. 15th St.
Never miss a local story.
Officials are seeking new, unwrapped toys as well as nonperishable foods and donations of money.
The campaign typically struggles to collect donations for children up to 3 years old as well as for children ages 11 to 19.
Last year the campaign distributed more than 1,100 toys to underprivileged children.
