Police here are investigating two thwarted robberies at a gas station this week.
The robberies were reported early Tuesday morning, hours apart, at the same store in the 400 block of North Mercey Springs Road, Los Banos police said in a news release.
A 22-year-old man was pumping gas about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday when two young men approached, told him they were armed and demanded money, police said.
It was not clear if the suspects had any firearms.

The two suspects assaulted the man when he tried to go inside the convenience store for help. The victim, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.
Both suspects ran away, heading east across Mercey Springs Road, police said.
Investigators described the suspects as black males, possibly 17 to 19 years old. They were wearing hooded sweatshirts and jeans, police said.
Later that night, about 2:37 a.m., a man entered the same store, claimed he was armed and demanded money from the register, police said. Investigators said the suspect threatened several times to shoot the clerk.
As previously reported, the clerk refused to open the register and the man left the store empty-handed. He was also last seen running east across Mercey Springs Road, police said.
The suspect in that attempted robbery was described by police as a black male juvenile who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt zipped up over his head to conceal his face.
No arrests have been made in either case.
